Abstract

Treating Maxillary Deficiency in Class III Patients by Using MINISCREWS and SKAR III Protocol: Is This a Way?

by Maino B. Giuliano

Skeletal class III patients are challenging to treat for several reasons. The introduction of the skeletal anchorage offers the capability to improve dramatically the quality of the results by reducing the side effects. The speaker will describe how the recent evolution of the MAPA system ( an original insertion guide system designed to facilitate the precise miniscrew insertion and the appliance delivery in one single visit) provides the possibility to really affect the orthopedic components of the most common malocclusions. Using some clinical cases it will be shown different approaches to treat growing and adult patients according to the SKAR III protocol . Immediate and long term results will be presented.
