Dear Members and Friends of SIDO,

it is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I invite you to the SIDO International Spring Meeting that will be held in Florence, Italy, on March 21-22, 2025 in the wonderful venue of the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. You will have the opportunity to attend an event dedicated to a highly topical and controversial subject: Skeletal or conventional anchorage in dentofacial orthopedics?

The Spring Meeting will be hosted in a single hall, the prestigious Zubin Mehta Auditorium, and will be divided into 3 sessions. Renowned international experts will deliver 30-minute lectures to discuss the efficacy of skeletal versus dental anchorage in the treatment of:

• Maxillary transverse deficiency in both growing and adult patients;
• Class II malocclusion due to mandibular retrusion in growing patients;
• Class III malocclusion in growing patients.

This year, the Spring Meeting will feature two major innovations:

1. Consensus Conference: the event will be preceded by a Consensus Conference where world-renowned clinicians and researchers will develop statements on the topics of the Meeting. The results of the Consensus Conference will be published in a scientific article prior to the Meeting, offering an authoritative guide for SIDO members and a valuable reference for the speakers.
2. Interactive Sessions: Each session will conclude with a 30-minute panel discussion, providing an open forum for interaction between speakers and attendees. The audience will be engaged interactively, with the opportunity to participate in live polls and submit questions to the speakers through a dedicated smartphone application. The discussion will be facilitated by a pair of moderators who will coordinate the sessions. Following the panel discussion, the awards for the best scientific and clinical posters will be presented.

And, of course, there will be time for socializing! The President’s Reception and the SIDO Party will take place in the elegant foyer of the Theater, blending scientific updates with convivial moments in a truly unique atmosphere.
